This will be a friendly, heart-opening and rewarding 2-hour workshop introducing a series of postures that help you bind, balance and bend better using a new kind of yoga strap called the “Dharma Strap”. Dharma Straps are buckle-free, hassle-free and come in 3 different sizes to accommodate various levels of stiffness and flexibility.
Binding requires flexibility and commitment, and acts like a “lock” to help us find stability in a pose. In certain postures, it can also help us massage our muscles and internal organs, helping us become our very own healers.
Balancing postures in yoga teach us how to focus, build strength, find our centre of gravity and equilibrium, trust, slow down and find a sense of calm and stillness despite what is going on around us.
Backbends and heart openers are good to elongate the spine, improve posture and flexibility, stretch the front half of the body, open up tight shoulders, reduce stress and anxiety, provide emotional release…
Some of the postures we will study include:
- danurasana (bow pose)
- natarajasana (dancer)
- raja kapotasana (king pigeon)
- kapyasana (crescent moon)
- bharadvajasana (seated bind)
- vashistasana (side plank)
- compass pose
- padmasana (lotus)
- utthita padangusthasana (hand-to-big toe pose)
- and more!
Workshop includes free Dharma Straps kit (comes with 1 x Small, 1 x Medium, 1 x Large strap)
When: Saturday, November 28th
